Miles Davis Birthday Celebration Planned In Alton, IL

ALTON, IL — The Miles Davis Memorial Project, the group responsible for the fundraising and unveiling of the city’s Miles Davis statue, will celebrate in honor of Davis’ birthday on Thursday.

Thursday would have marked Davis’ 90th birthday, and the Miles Davis Memorial Project group will host a celebration in his honor at the Davis statue, unveiled last September in Downtown Alton. Hundreds of people flocked to the event for the unveiling of the bronze statue.
