(New York, NY) – The Miles Davis family were in NY to attend the record release party for Everything’s Beautiful, a reimagined interpretation of the music of Miles Davis, produced by GRAMMY Award-winning artist Robert Glasper, and timed to commemorate what would have been the 90th birthday of Miles Davis. The modern day Renaissance Man with a restless, creative spirit, remains among the most prolific and culturally relevant artists today. His impressive accomplishments in one lifetime continue to inspire and influence following generations. In short, he was the original disruptor. Davis changed the course of music five or six times and became the sole jazz artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, defying music categorization and remaining relevant to a wide demographic. His influence continues to cross generations. He remains the sole ambassador of the trumpet; nobody can wrestle the trumpets legacy away from Miles Davis.

To date, Davis has won eight Grammy Awards; a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and three Grammy Hall of Fame Awards.

This year (2016) Davis won the Jazz Times Readers Poll for 2015 Best Historical/Vault/Reissue with Miles Davis At Newport 1955-1975: The Bootleg Series Vol. 4. It marks the fourth time that a box set in Miles’ critically-acclaimed, best-selling Bootleg Series has won the Jazz Times Readers Poll in this category. Additionally, he was also honored for the same project by the NAACP Image Awards in recognition for “Outstanding Jazz Album” and by Jazzwise Albums of the Year Critics Poll for Reissues/Archive Album of the Year. In previous years, the Miles Davis Bootleg Series Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 have won this category.
