Miles Davis To Be Honored With Statue In Alton

The mayor of Alton, Illinois, plans to honor jazz great Miles Davis with a statue. Davis was born in Alton in 1926 and later moved to East St. Louis. Alton Mayor Tom Hoechst said the plan is to put a life-sized Davis statue in the heart of downtown Alton’s entertainment district.
