ERIN DAVIS (SON OF MILES DAVIS) & VINCE WILBURN, JR. (NEPHEW OF MILES DAVIS) SUPPORT RECORD STORE DAY WITH MULTIPLE VINYL PURCHASES ACROSS L.A.
(Los Angeles, CA) – Erin Davis (son of Miles Davis) and Vince Wilburn, Jr. (nephew of Miles Davis), really stepped it up to show their support for Record Store Day. Davis and Wilburn, who represent Miles Davis Properties, LLC, visited record stores across Los Angeles to make special edition vinyl purchases to support area brick-and-mortar record stores.
“Erin (Davis) and I both being musicians, feel it’s really important to be a part of Record Store Day,” comments Vince Wilburn, Jr., nephew of Miles, who runs Miles Davis Properties, LLC with Erin Davis (son of Miles) and Cheryl Davis (daughter of Miles). “The music of Miles and live music, lives in us all.”
Three Miles Davis limited-edition, collectible titles were also available on Record Store Day, including “Round About Midnight,” “Milestones,” and “Someday My Prince Will Come” via Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment. The 12″ LPs, which are presented in Mono and feature original tracklists on 180-gram audiophile vinyl, were specially created to support Record Store Day and the independent record retailers nationwide.
Now in its sixth year, Record Store Day is an annual day-long celebration of record store culture, featuring limited-edition vinyl releases and in-store performances by a wide array of artists, on the third Saturday of April.
