The Miles Electric Band performed at Poland’s Lotos Jazz Festival on February 26. Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita wrote about their performance:
At the head of the team stood nephew Vince Wilburn, Jr., who was with Miles at a concert in Poland and tearfully recalled that moment. He stressed that his uncle was grateful to the Polish audience and wished us the best possible future.
Maybe that’s why they played an excellent concert. It was not easy to control the band, but since everyone has a clear role, Miles Electric Band at times fell into a trance almost the same as the best Davis ensembles. Vince Wilburn, Jr. turned out to be even a little similar to Miles.
The show started with DJ Jeremy Ellis, who mixed in Miles’ distinctive, husky voice to introduce the right mood. Christian Scott, with his bent trumpet up, showed off in solos. … Saxophonist Antoine Roney, played solos with intensity … Spectacular solos on drums, congas and others showed off. … It seemed that Miles’ spirit of improvisation and collaboration hovered over the stage.
